Step 1: The audio source

Maybe you notice on the status bar (in the right bottom) the "No music!" message. The first stage is to set the audio source (MP3, OGG, MID or KAR) of your karaoke.
Open the dialog "Audio source" (icon or Project / Audio sources menu...)

There are two ways for setting the audio source :
  • Make a link towards an audio file located somewhere on your hard disk,
Advantage: the KFN file will be smaller, because the audio file is NOT included.
Disadvantages: this link will be broken if the audio file is moved and it's more difficult to share your KFN because you always have to distribute the separated audio file with it.
  • Include it into the KFN file using the library (icon or Project / Library... menu).

  • We prefer to use the second way: making one big KFN file. This solution makes the karaoke sharing easier.

Select "Source in the library". A warning message is displayed. Click on OK and add your audio file to the library. Close the library. The audio source is automatically selected and set. Click on OK : the "No music!" message should disappear.

Push the space bar to start or stop the music replay.

To move the music position, click on the blue circle of the time bar and move it. In the status bar, the elapsed time is displayed with the best accuracy. Click on that label to display the remaining time.

If you click in the center of the higher time bar, a blue horizontal line is displayed on the left of the mouse pointer and the music position is now in the middle of the song.

To understand the difference between the two time bars, click on the small cursor of the higher time bar and move it, then move the second time bar with the blue circle cursor.
