Can you tell me if is possible to connect my laptop/Kara program to my 63 inch plasma? It would be great to see this on the big screen without cheesy computer speakers.
If so, how would the best configuration setup look like?
Mic connection? some type of Radio shack adapter or something?
Would I have to use external speakers on computer for mic or is there a way to connect another device (amp), etc...?
I dont have external speakers on laptop, and would like configure some way so I could use the laptop instead of the computer as its in another room..

Hi Dan
You should be able to connect up OK. I assume that your plasma has a PC input (most do).
To connect the video you need a VGA - VGA lead to connect from the laptop to your plasma. The cable will look like this: | Code: | | http://www.cables2u.co.uk/monitor-cable-male-male-pi-254.html |
To connect the audio you will need to connect a lead from your laptop headphone socket to either your plasma (if it has an audio in) or to an amp (your hi-fi?). Remember when you set up for the first time, have the laptop audio at zero, set a sensible volume setting on the plasma / amp, start to play some audio on the laptop, then slowly increase to volume of the laptop until it reaches an acceptable volume level.

Yes, that was very helpful, I see that even my 4-5 year old Benq front
projector even has a PC input, thats very cool..
So, I got the basic concections figured out now, I assume there is an adapter
so a decent mic can plug in the laptop..
I would like to have professional vocal effects in addition to key change, etc, I should clarify, I need some!
Is there a good solution, some type of unit to hook up to my stereo?

Hi Dan
OK, welcome to the wonderful world of audio mixers..... Cos that's what you're going to need.
Audio mixers link between your input devices (laptop, mic etc) and your amplifier. This means you plug all your inputs into the mixer, then the mixer connects to your amp.
Mixers are good things to have as they let you balance the volume levels of all the different inputs and output one single signal to your amp. They also allow for lots of inputs (typically at least 2-3 mic plus laptop/CD/etc). All DJ's and KJ's will be using a mixer.
Mixers come in all price ranges and can have a huge range of features (including vocal processing!).
If you are looking for one for home use I would suggest that a simple one would suffice - 2-3 mic inputs plus a line-level input is enough (line-level is the term used for an input from your laptop/CD/etc). Beyond this simple spec, you just need to find a mixer that does whatever 'fancy stuff' you want (echo etc).
Typing 'buy audio mixer' into Google should let you find loads (why not try ebay as there are many good second user bargains around)?

All PTFE of PTFE valve is purchased directly from global manufacturers, each batch of PTFE has its own unique number. We never mix these batches together, all our PTFE tube extrusions contain only one batch. When the polymer is mixed and extruded the batch number is recorded on the extrusion details sheet, this extrusion run number is referenced on a label applied to the PTFE tube which used <a href="http://www.corrosion-resistant-valves.com/corrosion-resistant-pipe-fitting.html">PTFE valve</a> ,once sintered .
