I was able to extract songs from mediacom karaoke disc. The files are in ASF format. When I play it through WMP or VLC, there's no picture, only the audio with vocals on it. I wish to convert it so I can play it in Karafun but I don't know how. The file size for each song is about 1-2 MB.

I appreciate some help.

the songs are wav files more likely the fox format from ms windows 98 asf editor. as that editor changed the wav files to a different wav format to use in its asf files.

so you would just have to use different photos in the karafun editor

but you would just be better off recording the songs again with winamp and trying to use a old winamp plugin from analogx.com that was made to remove the vocals from the songs if the songs were done in stereo as music on right and voice on left.

if done like that then you can turn the voice down and get the muisc. then you have the reverse also you should beable to turn down the side with the music and get voice so you can put them both in to karafun one for the song playback and then one for the tutor wav to learn how the words are sung.

but you are going to need to re record the asf songs to wav because they are so messed up when put in to that asf format wav they will sound bad if you try to put them back in aiff or raw wav format.

if the songs have the voice and the music on both channels left and right, then you just have to record them and use both in the karafun file.

then once you learn the song from playing both you can turn the volume down and get the band to play the music and you sing. of course that depends if your in a band.

Thanks for the reply. But since these ASF file were extracted from Mediacom Karaoke Disc, the songs should have the video with lyrics on it. Mediacom is actually a Karaoke Player with a disc labeled as MDVD_6628 with DKD files. When playing it to Mediacom Karaoke Player, the video is there along with the lyrics. When I extracted it, it came out 4,105 ASF file format songs. Then I played it through WMP or VLC in my PC, there's no video, I can hear only the audio with vocals in it. I wish to play this ASF files to Karafun but it cannot be played so far. I tried converting it to other format but still I cannot see the video with lyrics on it.

I suspect you have ripped the audio only from the disk?

I did a bit of research on this and the only disk I could find that matched your description contained MIDI files. These are difficult to rip from disk (see the thread at)

My friend is going to be playing using the refer a friend program and we want to take advantage of the triple XP from grouping together. There will be times where one of us might not be on to play and we don't want to separate in level. I've seen people control 4 characters simultaneously. I even reported the 4 gnome warlocks who destroyed me haha, only to find out that the software to do such a thing is perfectly legal according to the GM I spoke to. I have a high end PC so running two instances of WoW shouldn't be an issue. I don't even really want to control both characters at the same time, meaning I don't plan them to be the same class spaming the same skill to do twice as much damage or whatever. I mainly just want the characters to move the same way, be able to pick up quests, etc so they both level together. So what is the software to do such a thing?
