As an update to this thread I have now found a workaround for the problem with audio playback stuttering and breaking up in Vista.

It appears that the audio problems are caused by low memory when running Vista. Vista needs a MINIMUM of 2Gb RAM to run things like its new AERO interface and the other graphic heavy components!

The good news is that if you TURN OFF all the fancy graphics then Karafun will run in Vista OK.

I hope this helps some of you. I have done this and Karafun works fine on my Compaq 1.7 dual core laptop.

I have vista and i cannot hear me sing when playing in the player... its not my sound card or the mics, they pic up fine but no sound.. kinda defets the objective of a karaoke program eh?
could do with some help

just might be the mixer on the sound card is not selected or unmuted. if you have unmuted it and you go back to check it again then you see it is muted again, you might have an auto feedback cancle protection code or some type of script on your sound card if they make that type of code?

you also might have forgot to unmute the recording mic mixer.
you have to go to options for the mixer and change from playback to recording and then mute all you don't want and unmute the mic. mixer.

hope that is what it is cause thats the easy thing.

Ever since I used Karafun editor on my puter running Win Vista, all my music sounds like the key is too high and too fast. If i set the key lower and the tempo slower everything sounds fine. The prob is that if I use my audio receiver for my sound output all my media sounds like The Chipmunks. This includes cd's, and internet sites. I really don't want to have to uninstall KaraFun, but I think it's messing with my puter.
