Questions about reverb, sound card and vista

So i have been happily running Karafun for about 4 months now here at the house but I had a few questions.

First the basic stats:
Windows Vista 32
Realtek AC97 soundcard onboard the motherboard
and 2 gigs of ram

First question is I would like to add some reverb to the microphone. Any plug ins or outside programs that will allow this?

Also, I was thinking of updating the soundcard, what soundcard is recommended for Karafun and Windows Vista? And would any certain soundcard give me the ability to add reverb to the mic?

And finally, for some reason I can not control the mic volume through Karafun, I have to open windows recording devices to move the mic level up or down. Being able to edit this in program would be great as some of my friends are quite a bit louder than others.

i thought karafun had a panel that had the control knobs on it for reverb?

any sound card will work but the better ones will of course sound tons better.

not sure but i thought the same panel in karafun also controlled the mic volume. for use in singing as well as recording?

i don't use it but i did see it there one time so unless they changed it since the last update, it should still be there? yep its still there has all the controls on the control panel. at least its on the version 1.18 free karafun.
