Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I've done some testing, and found that if I zip the files with WinRAR, they always work. But, when I zip them with MP3+G Toolz, they don't work.
I've tried various compression methods with both of them, and no difference. So, I compared the files themselves, and found nothing strange, except this.... When I use WinRAR to display the archive "Info", the one that works is marked as Version 2.0, while the one that fails is marked Version 2.1 - maybe that's the diff?
Perhaps you could test and verify this? I'd hate to unzip/rezip thousands of files individually - MP3+G_Toolz is my primary tool to manage my files automatically (by folder), and it's free. See http://www.activeaspsoftware.net/default.aspx?p=downloads
Followup:... "Nevermind...."
I was using Version 3 of MP3+G_Toolz. I replaced it with Version 4, and now everything is good. The new version now identifies the zip as Version 2.0 and no longer imposes a comment. Nice... |
