Small Preview Window needed!

Karafun have a main video window but we play it on another monitor/TV however we still would like a small preview video window on the computer where the Karafun player is run from.

Reason is that the other monitor/TV is facing out to the singers and the computer with the Karafun player is inside the soundbooth so we cannot see what is playing on the monitor and would like a small preview video windows to make sure everything is in sync to the audio when playing.

I'm sorry to say this but there's something you should try:
Virtual DJ, which has the option that you need. It also has the BIG MISSING item in Karafun, a really good search engine.
Disadvantage of this program is that it uses a lot of processor time (and memory) but it can play VOB, MPEG, CD+G etc.
KFN files can be converted into movie files and then they will also play in Virtual DJ.
I still think Karafun is a very good program to create your own karaoke, but for playing I would try VDJ.

Hi!

Another proposal: try Swift Elite 4.0 Hoster from Tricerasoft! It's just like VDJ but especially made for Karaoke!

I am working with Swift Elite (1.0, 1.2, 3.0 and 4.0) since five years and it's the best I've ever seen!

You can do slideshows while plain music is playing, you have the control over pitch and tempo, you can display text messages and announcements, you are able to play quick sound FX (e.g. Jingles or else), and much more!

It has two decks (A & B) and each deck has a preview screen!

Just try it!

I checked both of your recommendation softwares and I admit both look very nice and seem to have lots of features that we may not even use. So we wouldn't really want to pay over 200 dollar for something we only use once a week

Let me explain, we are using karafun in a Deaf Commuity Church so we all can feel the music playing but we follow along the words on the screen along with the music in sign langauage so that why we are using this software just to be able to do this.

But inside the sound booth the deaf person controling it cannot see what the song is currently at because the screen with words that playing the song is not visible to him that why I am asking for this feature request of preview windows.

We probably will just get a splitter and add another TV set inside the sound booth room.

I can say only one thing about Swift Elite 4 - Don't Use it what so ever. The Company are Rude unreliable and don't listen to the user. the software crashes lots of times and even when you report it to them they will try to say things like have you installed latest driver and are you sure it isn't your hardware. I'm an IT engineer and installed it on 4 different systems and the effects are the same the words delay or they display is poor or it comes up with Zip errors for files. They tell the user that they should try different Zip software etc. Well here's a clue if it affects more than one user and they are able to use the same files in other software i.e. pcdj vj and karafun and s-n-d then there is a clue there that points out it is a software problem.

For the price of the software and the poor service - I wouldn't bother. I use pcdj vj and convert using karafun to video, but also use pcdj as back ground music down one channel and karafun down the other and I have got a reliable show with no silence space.

I know it sounds horrible to criticise a company, but I bought the original swift elite and it wasn't reliable and then years later thought they'd improved it and bought that and again it still had it's primary faults. I offered advice and pointers on what users wanted and they took it as criticism instead of advice - Very poor service when companies cannot take advice from people who are on the front line.

I would use the above software as the plugins for the screen allow you to also have a screen on your monitor also, the software is cheap and reliable, I use it in conjunction with Karafun as I like karafun for it's unique background displays

Hi

I agree with Kalel about Swift Elite. I have tried v3 and v4 and found both to be very unstable. I have a dedicated PC which only runs my karaoke so its not simply a clash with any other program??? I would never use a piece of software which appears that unreliable.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to tell you that I'm using Swift Elite, different versions now for nearly five years, and I mostly never had any problems with crashing software or any other bugs. Once in a while (once in three months) Swift would just stop working but that's all.

I only have some problems with some music videos - obviously I have a wrong or inactive codec because I only see the video but don't hear the music.
But since I very seldom play music videos that's not a pity. Karaoke videos work perfectly!

So from my point and my experiences I only can recommend Swift Elite - didn't know that other users had such problems.

Government spokesman Nattawut Sai-Kau said police would avoid violence and attempt to negotiate with the protesters of the People's Alliance for Democracy, which has been campaigning for months to oust the government.

Police have been instructed to get the protesters out of airports "as soon as possible" in a "peaceful manner," Nattawut told The Associated Press.

"Firstly, the police should open negotiation with the protesters. If they refuse to go, police should do whatever is necessary to open the airports on the basis of nonviolence," he said.

The comments came hours after Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat declared a state of emergency at the Bangkok airports, authorizing police to take back the terminals that signaled an imminent crackdown.

The protesters occupied the main international Suvarnabhumi airport on Tuesday and the secondary Don Muang airport on Wednesday, forcing both facilities to be shut down indefinitely. All flights to the airports have been canceled, leaving the capital completely cut off to air traffic and stranding thousands of local and foreign travelers.

Among those stranded are Thai Muslims planning to go on pilgrimages to Saudi Arabia this week. Thai Airways said it will arrange a special flight for about 250 pilgrims from Hat Yai in southern Thailand later Friday. More such flights are planned, said Narongsak Sangapong, a senior airline official.
