|
|
I've had success exporting AVI files with the latest Studio, but I've been getting completely silent AVI's when I try to use a very large audio file. In this case, I'm creating an AVI of "Paradise By The Dashboard Light", with an MP3 weighing in at a hefty 11 megabytes. I've tried the same KFN file with a smaller audio source, and it exports with audio.
The music plays fine in the editor, and I've tested the AVI export with two different but similarly-sized mp3's to be certain it's not just some unexplained corruption in the source.
I'm using PCM 44100Hz stereo on my AVI export settings. The AVI this creates is rather large, 106MB, if that makes any difference. For comparison, I've successfully encoded an MP3+G file with a 7 mb audio source to an 80mb AVI.
I've tried encoding with a couple of different video and audio codecs, cutting the final AVI's size to under 50mb, with the same results-- no
audio.
[EDIT] Further experimentation has yielded some information: the problem seems related to the duration of the KFN, not the file size of the source audio.
I exported a gradually-increasing series of KFN and MP3+G files:
* MY PROBLEM FILE, duration 8:40, size 12186k: NO AUDIO on AVI output
* TEST FILE 1: 5:43, 8041k: Audio OK
* TEST FILE 2: 6:27, 9094k: Audio OK
* TEST FILE 3: 7:41, 10814k: Audio OK
* TEST FILE 4: 8:45, 12307k: NO AUDIO on AVI output
Looks like 8:40 and 12186k, one or the other, is too much.
I then tried playing with the problem file:
PROBLEM FILE, RESAMPLED TO LOWER BITRATE: 8:40, 10148k (smaller file than successful Test File 3): NO AUDIO on AVI output
PROBLEM FILE, CUT TO 8:15, 9672k: NO AUDIO on AVI output
PROBLEM FILE, CUT TO 8:00, 9390k: Audio OK
Conclusion: looks like something in your AVI export code has a problem outputting audio if the entire audio source is longer than about eight minutes.

Interressting. Thanks!
Cound you send us the CDG file (if it's not too big...) ?
We are now working on some improvements in video export (especially if video track is used). |

There's really no associated CDG file with the problem; it seems to be the duration of the MP3 source file... and anyway, my email account can't handle a 9MB attachment.
You can reproduce the problem by creating a KFN with an MP3 source lasting 8:15 or greater-- maybe as little as 8:01, as I didn't test any durations from 8:01 through 8:14. You'll probably see what I mean when you export the AVI.

Hey, no need to apologize. I'm just glad you're so receptive to bug reports!
So, when can we expect 1.01? No pressure or anything.
[EDIT] Hey wow, it looks like it's already up! Nice.
[EDIT AGAIN] ...and it works like a dream-- well done!
