Hi! I'm using KaraFun v0.95.
The editor stops processing the lyrics before it reaches the end...
I've counted the words (and syllables made with / ), and it seems to
stop at 200...
Is there a workaround to this? Registration fee? Or design flaw?
Saw this other topic, maybe he had the same problem?

PS
I do have a screenshot that shows it, but I don't know where to upload it, and I thought it probably wasn't necessary... |

No, there's no limitation.
You've probably put a "/" at the end of a line... It's surely that. |

Well, I can't see no "/" at the end of any of my lines...
And, moreover, I tried both adding a word, and adding a syllable break earlier in the lyric, both which made the last magically word disappear... Or more word reappear when I removes syllable breaks... All of this happenig at the 200-words/syllables "mark". Again supporting my 200 words limit hypothesis...
edit:Sent a screenshot to support@karafun.com, showing that karafun stopped processing words, and the edit window that shows the remaining lyrics... |

Okay, starting the Record, and sync with SPACE makes the words appear...
I have to say that I started the project with adding a music source, importing a lrc file, and then go on manually editing the sync points... Haven't tried anything else yet, but it seems maybe then that there's something with the import-function?
I also found it a little akward trying to sync with the space button with multi-syllable words, without going in to manually split the words with "/". As I didn't find this necessary in the first place with all words... |

Simple LRC file doesn't have all the syncs, they have only one sync for all the lines (except for Enhanced LRC karaoke files which have all syncs and support word breaks ) so the import of this kind of file can not be perfect. |

Oh! NOW I got it... Trying to combine the two threads I've written into a sort of concluding one
When importing the lyric, KaraFun made the correct number of syncs corresponding to the number of words in the text file (which in this case was 200)... But when I started messing around, with breaking up words, and otherwise changing the number of words/syllables in the lyrics, KaraFun didn't automatically change the number of syncs... I guess this behaviour would be the same whether the lyric is imported or not... It goes like this:
Original text : "And his mama cries" got four words, which get four syncs: 1:And, 2:his, 3:mama, 4:cries, Then I go in and break up "mama" into "ma/ma". When returning to the karafun editor we now get the syncs this way: 1:And, 2:his, 3:ma, 4:ma, and since there are no fifth sync, "cries" disappears... (And during editing of the hole song, I lost several words...)
Syncs and words/syllables will always be connected first to first, second to second, third to third and so on... I now understands that this is the way KaraFun manages the lyrics. Also it seems that KaraFun has no understanding of what happens when the lyric is edited, so it has no way of understanding about changing the syncs based on changes in the lyrics...
I've now understood that you have to manually add/remove the syncpoints to match your changes. So it becomes two steps: a)edit the lyric b)add/remove syncs at the right place. One can do either one first and then the next one, but the syncs will look messed up in the middle of the prosess.
It would be nice if KaraFun could help with this.
An idea would be that KaraFun analyzes the the lyrics before and after an edit, find what has changed, and insert/removes the appropriate syncs in the right space, probably evenly distributed. Maybe with an option of either keep the rest of the syncs in place (insert/remove syncs in the right space) or shifting the lyrics (same as now, but add/remove syncs at the end instead).
Another way would maybe be to let KaraFun handle the editing directly, and do the sync changes on-the-fly, but would maybe require a conceptual change in how the lyrics are handled internally in the kfn...
Any comments?
Yours sincerely,
Herman Andresen
ps
Hmm, maybe this turned into a request... But it was so closely connected to my threads, so I keep it here... move if necessary...) |

Answer about your request.
Automatic sync modification can not be made because, even if sometimes it may accelerate your work, sometimes it's blowing up your karaoke too!!
We (Recisio, the KaraFun publisher) are probably using KaraFun the most, and we are also creating karaokes. If, like us, you know that there is a difference between the syncs and the words (and there SHOULD BE one) it's very easy to copy-paste lyrics / syncs etc.
For example, let's talk about an imaginary song, which have these sentences:
"I think it's real", and next, with the same tempo, having this one "I know it's fun", you can copy the syncs from the first sentence and paste them to synchronisate the second sentence. Easy and Clean! |
