|
|
Hi,
I got an error after a successful download of karafun_095.exe today during installation:
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
D:\ KaraFun\d3dx9_26.dll
An error occurred while trying to copy a file:
The source file is corrupted.
Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.
Of course, I downloaded the file again and tried to install it also in another languiage (German): Same result! My rig is up to date with all WIN XP SP2 updates, drivers etc.
Any idea? |

yes i got that or an other error on a dll file when i installed the program.
i am sure it is the firewalls fault as i shut off the computer and rebooted,
then reinstalled and did not get that error. so it has to be something that is in the system files that is running when trying to install the program.
maybe something to do with The Browser files also ?that is just a guess of mine but it makes sense _________________ roving cowboy / keith hall.

First, try to download the file again (maybe it's really corrupted by a bad download!)
Then desactivate your antivirus and firewall.
Then... it must work! |

Hi Rovingcowboy, Hi Jaile!
Thanks for your advice, you both were right! It was the nVidia firewall on my AMD64 nforce4 board, which caused the trouble. I was using this firewall now for about 2 weeks and experienced also some other issues (e.g. instability) which I did not have before with my previous firewall "Zonealarm". So I went back today to Zonealarm. However, I am still wondering how a firewall can lead to corrupted download files...
Thanks for supplying this help fast! |

You don't have to download this file : it is with the installation of KaraFun. When you install KaraFun, the d3dx9_26.dll is copied just next to the KaraFun.exe...
It's included in the setup file. |
