Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me. I downloaded the Karafun program version 1.18 (free). However it wont even play the three free songs that come with it (My Way, The Saints go Marching etc). When I click play the name of the song is displayed in the Karaoke window but the song doesn't play
I am using an ACER laptop that is 1 year old. It has Windows XP operating system. I also bought a song from the KaraFun website but it wont play either. I would be really grateful if someone could help me. |

Hi
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Do you get any error messages when you try to play back a song?
If no errors, here are some thoughts:
- Have you got a directX compatible graphics card?
- Have you got direct X 9.0 or better installed?
- In the Options Menu, on the General tab, have you ticked the correct boxes in File types to associate (kfn, kpl, cdg at a minimum I would suggest)
- If you use CDG+MP3 songs, are you clicking on the CDG file (not the MP3 file)?
Just a few ideas to check. Other posters may have a better knowledge of Karafun than me, so you might get some better suggestions later.
Good luck!

Hi,
I tried everything that You said but it still wont play. The strange thing is that some of the VanBasco files WILL play in KaraFun but the KaraFun files wont play. |

Hmmm
Seems strange to me that it will play MIDI files (that's what the Vanbasco files are) but not the songs made by its own creators.
Sorry to go over old ground but are you POSITIVE your PC & Graphics Card meet the minimum spec?
The only other thing you could try is to install one of the multi-codec driver packs (google for something like 'k-lite codec pack' - its freeware). I'm not sure that this is even needed but it won't hurt to try it?
My only other suggestion is to uninstall it completely, reboot and re-install. If this doesn't work then i'm struggling to help more.
Sorry!
