I'm a bit confused. Is there a search engine to search your local media _________________ Rick Salt |

Not for the moment, but it will be added in a future version. _________________ Nico - KaraFun & Karaoke Version team |

I have found a solution for the lack of a search engine in KaraFun which seems to work very well (touch wood!)
Download a program called Copernic Desktop Search 2 (freeware).
When installed it searches and indexes all files on your computer which takes a few minutes but is well worth the wait!
Select the search parameters to include the folder(s) where you store your karaoke files (and the type as zip if you have your files zipped). Then type in the partial or full name of the song (it will search on either, or the artist or any other criteria in the file name and hit go.
The search result comes back exceptionally quickly (about one second!) This is much much faster and more versatile than the Windows search engine.
Select(s) the song you want and drag and drop into KaraFun and bingo!
Very very quick and efficient program. Can also be used for other searches but even if it's just for this it's well worth while getting. I personaaly couldn't get on with Sax n Dotty although a lot of people seem to recommend it. Personal preference I'm sure.
Be good to hear what anyone else thinks of this solution. _________________ They said "Smile. Things could be worse". I smiled.. they got worse! |

Ya so I checked this out, and it seems very usable! I was hoping for a more simpler look (like no icons, just search and results), but I think this is a winner until karafun comes up with their own game plan. |

Hi
Just to add to the suggestions, I currently use a program called MediaMonkey to index all my tracks. The search functions are excellent and you can drag n drop songs from it directly into Karafun. The only drawback is that you can't use zipped files (doesn't bother me!).
Hope this helps someone?
Regards
